What we can do for peace before the year ends

d

Thank you for being part of World Beyond War. With your help, look how we’re growing and spreading the idea of a new movement to end all wars:

Below is information on where we’ve come and where we’re heading. We need your help with:

Here’s what some friends are saying:

“I support this great and important initiative to abolish militarism and war.”— Mairead Maguire, Nobel Peace Laureate, Advisory Board Member of World Beyond War

“It is so inspiring to see a new group coming together not to focus on a particular war or weapons system, but on all war–everywhere, and to have such beautifully crafted arguments about why war is not inevitable and how war contributes to so many other global ills.”— Medea Benjamin, Peace activist and Advisory Board Member of World Beyond War

We hope to soon double our enrollments, as each person enrolls at least one more (you can help just by forwarding this email to a friend with an encouraging note). We’re gathering a mass body of individuals who can take the actions we need to end war on the planet. Stopping U.S. missile strikes on Syria in 2013 and preventing U.S. war on Iran in 2015 are hints at the direction a popular movement can take us. Dangerous developments could take us in the opposite direction.

World Beyond War is still just getting started and has already produced a valuable and popular book on alternatives to war, a website that makes the case against war, a set of resources that can and has been used to produce powerful eventsadvancing war abolition, a calendar marking important historical peace events every day of the year, maps that graphically display the state of world militarism, and many other activist resources.

World Beyond War has worked with others in the peace movement, and in some cases had a clearly positive influence in moving coalitions toward framing their work as a step toward ending war and replacing it with superior alternatives. We’ve produced many events, published many articles, and done many interviews and media appearances. We’re developing aspeaker’s bureau, an advisory board, and country coordinators to advance our work around the world. We’ve facilitated collaboration across national borders and see doing so as one of our main tasks. Our director was nominated for the Nobel peace prize this year for his work with World Beyond War.

We’re developing a daily peace almanac for radio stations. We’re planning a major conference and series of real-world and virtual events. We’ll be creating an improved second edition of our book. In our outreach work, we plan to identify and begin working with a large number of country coordinators. We have big plans for online and offline activism, and an online course on the abolition of war.

Our plans for the coming months are ambitious, and we can only succeed with your support. You can help with a tax-deductible contribution before the end of the year.

Please hit reply to let us know if you would like to become more actively involved in helping build a global movement to end all war.

We are soliciting your opinion on where you’d like to see our priorities in the months ahead. Our central focus will always be advancing the ending of all war, through education and action, but we want to put some effort globally into one or more particular projects. Please click here to help us choose.

Thanks again for your support—together we can end war forever!

To make a year-end tax-deductible contribution click here or send your check to World Beyond War, P.O. Box 1484, Charlottesville, VA 22902 USA.

Another way you can help us financially and through visibility is by getting yourself and your friends and family some ofthese wonderful t-shirts, sweatshirts, and bags. We’ve restarted this shirt campaign for the second and last time due to ongoing demand. We cannot promise delivery in time for holidays but can promise beautiful and powerful clothing.
